Chat with AI about a paper, choosing the context and model, with MAX full-text context and clickable citations.

Context you control

Choose which context the AI receives - Abstract, Notes, Highlights, and PDF Content - by toggling each source in the chat input. Pick which chat model answers from the model selector.

MAX context

When reading a PDF, a MAX Context toggle sends the full PDF text instead of only the most relevant passages. This gives deeper answers and uses embeddings to find the right sections; leave it off for quick questions.

Citations and history

Answers include clickable citations such as [1], [2] that jump to the exact sentence in the PDF, a note, or the abstract; hover a citation to preview its source. Chat history is kept per paper, and you can edit a question, retry an answer, or clear the conversation. When viewing a PDF you can also snip a region of the page as an image to ask about (a vision-capable model is used automatically).
