Gemini (Google)

Connect Google Gemini models to Sciwand with a free-tier API key from Google AI Studio.

Gemini, by Google, offers large context windows and vision support.

No subscription needed. A Google AI Premium (Gemini Advanced) plan does not include API access. The Gemini API has a free tier, so you can start without paying; paid usage is pay-as-you-go.

Step 1 - at Google

  1. Sign in to Google AI Studio with your Google account.
  2. Click Create API key and copy it.
  3. Billing is optional to start (free tier). For higher rate limits, enable billing in AI Studio / Google Cloud.

Step 2 - in Sciwand

  1. Open Settings -> AI Models, then click Manage (or Add Model) to open Configure Models.
  2. Select Gemini, then click Configure.
  3. Paste the key into API Key and click Save Changes.
  4. Tick models such as Gemini Flash or Gemini Pro.
