Reference Managers

The Reference Managers tab connects Sciwand to your existing library. Supported managers are Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, and Bookends (macOS only). Pick a manager from the pills at the top; a green dot means it is connected. Use Sync All to sync every connected manager at once.

Common controls

Each manager panel includes:

• Sync Enabled - when off, the manager is excluded from Sync All and hidden from the sidebar.
• Database - the local data location Sciwand reads from. Use Change to point at a different folder.
• Last Synced - the time of the last sync.
• Sync Library - run Initial Sync the first time, then Sync Changes afterwards.
• Clear Data - remove synced data for that manager (you can re-sync later).

Zotero

Zotero syncs from a local copy of your Zotero database (Offline mode); the online Web API mode is coming soon. You can also enable Open PDFs in Zotero to open a PDF in the Zotero app instead of Sciwand, and (in online mode) connect or disconnect your account.

Mendeley, EndNote, and Bookends

Mendeley and EndNote are detected automatically. If one is not found, use Retry or Select Directory to point at its database. Bookends (macOS) can sync multiple libraries and lets you clear individual libraries or all of them at once; it launches in the background while syncing.
