The Smart Sidebar
The per-paper panel that gathers analysis, the abstract, documents, references, a citation graph, and AI chat in one place.
The smart sidebar is the panel that opens when you select a paper - in your library or in search results. It collects everything about that paper, plus AI tools, into one place.
Opening, closing, and resizing
- Click any paper to open the sidebar; click it again, press Esc, or click X to close it.
- Drag the left edge to resize it (desktop). On mobile it opens full screen with a Back button, and you can swipe left or right between tabs.
Tabs
- Analysis - AI analyses of the paper.
- Abstract and info - the abstract and editable metadata.
- Documents, notes, and highlights - the PDF, attachments, notes, and highlights.
- References and cited by - papers this one cites, and papers that cite it.
- Citation graph - an interactive citation network.
- Chat with the paper - ask AI about this paper.
