Free to use.
Pay for AI your way.
Reading, organising and writing are free forever. For AI, pick one of two options: subscribe to Sciwand AI and we run the models, or buy a lifetime license once and bring your own key. You never need both.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need my own API key?
Only with a lifetime license. A Sciwand AI subscription runs the models for you, so there is no key to set up. With a license, Sciwand talks to your AI provider directly from your machine using your key, so you pay the provider for what you use and nothing goes through us.
Can I move to a new computer?
With a lifetime license, use the License Manager to deactivate your old device, then activate the same key on the new one. With a Sciwand AI subscription, sign in with the same account on the new computer. Your plan, remaining credit and usage follow your account, on as many devices as your plan includes.
Is there an education discount?
Yes. Students and faculty get 20% off a lifetime license. It does not apply to Sciwand AI subscriptions. Details here.
Can I upgrade to more devices later?
Yes. You can upgrade your lifetime license at any time and only pay the difference.
What does "lifetime updates" mean?
With a lifetime license you get every future update to Sciwand at no extra cost. No recurring fees: pay once, use forever.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes, and you don't need a card to do it. Sciwand is free to download and the reading, organising and writing tools stay free forever. Every AI feature is unlocked for 7 days when you first run it, so you can see exactly what AI does before you spend anything. Your statutory rights still apply once you have bought, see our Terms.
